Mission Impossible 6: Henry Cavill Joins Cast And Tom Cruise Has His Buggest Stunt Of All Time

Crossover?

Henry Cavill will be in Mission Impossible 6.

The director of the film, Christopher McQuarrie revealed that Henry Cavill would be joining the cast in a post on Instagram:

Say, @henrycavill. Had a thought. Curious if you're interested in a role in the 6th installment of Mission: Impossible. No pressure.

Variety reports Cavill will play “a right hand man to the head of Cruise’s unit.” The rest of the cast will be returning with Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Jeremy Renner.
I’m excited to see what Henry Cavill brings to this franchise. I’d like to see him be in things not involving Superman. This might allow him to show off some talent outside of the DCEU. I’m also glad that Christopher McQuarrie is returning. (I know that’s been announced, I just didn’t have a site then)

In an interview with Collider, the producer, David Ellison, revealed filming will start April 10th in Paris, London, and New Zealand. He was then asked what big stunt they had planned for this movie and he provided this response:

“We’re thrilled. Chris is back, obviously, writing and directing after Rogue Nation. We could not be more excited about the character Henry Cavill’s going to play. And I will say after the Burj [Khalifa] we thought it was going to be impossible to top that stunt, and then Tom did the A380 for the plane. What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that’s come before. It is absolutely unbelievable—he’s been training for a year. It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after Rogue Nation came out. It’s gonna be mind-blowing.”

He also provided some thoughts on Tom Cruise doing his own stunts:

“It all comes from the best place. It is all about entertaining an audience. Tom’s entire mantra for hanging on the side of the Burj Khalifa or the A380 or literally holding your breath for six minutes underwater to do the Taurus sequence is, in a world of massive [visual] effects, he said the audience can tell when it’s you on a green screen or when you’re actually doing it live. And the tension, because the stunt is real, actually puts the audience where Ethan Hunt is where they are in the movie. He said that’s why he does it; it’s all about entertaining an audience and it makes the movie better.”

He couldn’t say where the stunt was in the movie, but he did tell about some behind the scenes debate over the Burj Khalifa in Ghost Protocol.

“I cannot say for M:I 6, but on Rogue Nation it was a conversation that was ongoing about whether or not it was in the opening or the middle of the movie. Obviously in Ghost Protocol there was a lot of conversation about should the Burj be at the end of the movie? Because it was obviously the biggest stunt in the film, and it really was just story drives everything. That’s the amazing thing about working with somebody who’s talented as Chris McQuarrie, who is a brilliant, brilliant screenwriter as well as a director, is story drives every single decision.”

It’s exciting to hear that Tom Cruise will be marking another epic stunt scene. It’ll be hard to beat the opening scene in Rogue Nation, but I believe Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise can do it.

‘The Matrix’ Reboot Reportedly A Morpheus Prequel

Let’s hope it’s better that Reloaded

Warner Bros. is bringing back one of the best action movies of all time, The Matrix.

THR reports that Warner Bros. is starting to develop a revival of The Matrix. Zak Penn is in talks to write the script. The studio is also looking at Michael B. Jordan to star in the movie.

The original report states that the new movie will be a reboot. They also say that Warner Bros. might be looking to make side stories like what the Star Wars franchise is doing with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Zak Penn tweeted to clear everything up:

First off, I’m glad it’s not a reboot. I couldn’t imagine anyone other than Keanu Reeves being Neo. I don’t think a Morpheus prequel is really needed, but there are cool things that you can do with that concept. As long as they don’t ruin all of the mystery behind the original movie, I would be fine with it.

Would you watch another Matrix movie? Do you want a reboot or a continuation? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Sorry…

If you hadn’t noticed, I haven’t posted in a few weeks. I’ve been really busy, and I had a hard time getting posts out. Now, everything is cleared up and I will be posting again.

I noticed that I got a few new followers while I was gone. Welcome to those new followers and I hope you stay! A Logan review should be going out soon. I know it’s a little late, but I need some practice. My site will be up to a better schedule this coming week. See ya!
