Disney has been doing live-action remakes of many classic Disney films lately with Cinderella, TheJungle Book, and Pete’s Dragon. A few months ago we got news that Jon Favreau would be directing a “live-action” remake of The Lion King.
Favreau tweeted that Donal Glover would star as Simba, and James Earl Jones as Mufasa again.

I really loved The Jungle Book, it was a really fun movie with groundbreaking CGI effects. I also am excited to see what Disney brings with the new Beauty andthe Beast remake. We all know the The Lion King is one of the best animated films of all time, and getting a remake in the right hands if promising. This casting is great.
Donald Glover as Simba is a great idea, I am excited to hear his voice. James Earl Jones was kind of a surprise to me, I thought they might distance themselves from the original a little bit, and get new actors. But, getting him back is a brilliant idea. I really couldn’t think of anyone better.
